Cathy Hopkins:
Winner of the 6th annual No-Tap Tournament
Congratulations to Cathy Hopkins - Winner of the 6th
Annual No-Tap Tournament held at Polo Park Bowling Centre on November 11, 2001.
Cathy's 10 game total pinfall for the event was 3004. Well done Cathy:)
Len Isleifson:
Volunteer of the Year Award - 2001
The Manitoba Five Pin Bowling Federation would like to
congratulate Len Isleifson who was nominated as the 2001 Volunteer of the Year.
Len has been an outstanding contributor to the sport of Five Pin Bowling.
Currently, Len is the President of the Westman 5 Pin Bowlers Association and
resides as the 1st Vice President with the Manitoba 5 Pin Bowlers
Association.
Len is quite active with the YBC Program as well. In addition to serving as
the YBC Program Director for the Brandon area, Len has coached at various YBC
levels and events. Len was the YBC Provincial Boys Singles Coach this past
season and represented Manitoba at the YBC National Championships in Calgary,
Alberta.
Len is eager to assist in all areas for the continued growth and enhancement
of the sport of Five Pin Bowling. The Manitoba Five Pin Bowling Federation
acknowledges Len’s commitment and dedication to our sport and congratulates
Len as this year’s Volunteer of the Year.

Crystal McElrea:
Judy Newton Memorial Scholarship Award - 2001
The Manitoba Five Pin Bowling Federation is pleased to
announce that this years recipient of the Judy Newton Memorial Scholarship Award
is Crystal McElrea. Crystal has
been presented with a $500 scholarship to be used towards post-secondary
studies.
Crystal has bowled in the YBC Program for the past 13 years and currently
serves on the executive of the YBC Seniors Program at Rossmere Lanes. This is
Crystal’s final year with the YBC Program. Crystal has qualified for the 4
Steps to Stardom team a total of six times. In addition, Crystal was a member of
this year’s Youth Challenge Ladies Team that won Provincial Gold.
As well as her bowling accomplishments, Crystal excels at school, having
made the honor roll in each year of her 3 High School years. Crystal was also a
member of her school choir, the vocal jazz group, the school grad committee and
the school yearbook committee.
In addition to Crystal’s school, sport and extra curricular achievements,
Crystal volunteers for Ronald McDonald House.
The Manitoba Five Pin Bowling Federation congratulates Crystal McElrea – a
deserving recipient of this year’s Judy Newton Memorial Scholarship Award.
