Annual Manitoba Provincial High School
5-Pin Bowling Tournament
Sanctioned
by, and in cooperation with, Manitoba High Schools Athletic Association,
this event will provide recognition and an opportunity for High School
youth bowlers in Manitoba to participate in a Provincial level competition
within the sport of 5-Pin Bowling. It is designed to instill in all participating
High School youth, an appreciation and enjoyment for bowling, not only
as a sport, but also as a form of social recreation that they and their
families may take part in for the rest of their lives.

The
Manitoba Five Pin Bowling Federation will award a $500 Post Secondary
Scholarship to the Youth Male & Female that bowl the highest Scratch
total.

When:
April 22, 2006 - 2:00 pm
Where:
Winnipeg, at a centre to be determined
Cost:
$10 per participant (includes lineage and shoe rental - other costs will
be the responsibility of the school).
Format:
The Tournament shall consist of a 4-Game Team Total Scratch contest, with
the Top Team being declared the 2006 Tournament Champions.
Age & Eligibility: (as per
MHSAA eligibility requirements) 1. Open to all Grade 9 - 12 youth enrolled
in a Manitoba High School. Bowlers must not be older than 19 years of
age as of August 31, 2005 2. Only one team entry per High School. If more
than four bowlers wish to participate, a School Qualifying Round will
need to be held in order to determine Team Composition. School Qualifying
Rounds may be arranged, if needed, with assistance from the Manitoba Five
Pin Bowling Federation.
Team
Composition: 1. Each School Team Entry will be comprised of four (4) bowlers
- 2 male & 2 female. 2. Each team should be accompanied by a School Manager/Chaperone
who is a NCCP Certified Level 1 Coach (must be 18 years of age or older
on or before December 31, 2006). If School Manager/Chaperone is not a
NCCP Certified 5-Pin Bowling Coach, the Manitoba 5-Pin Bowling Federation
shall work with the School to provide one for the Tournament Event.
Results:
Gold and Silver medallions will be awarded to the Championship & Finalist
Teams. A Championship Banner will also be awarded to the Provincial Championship
Team.
