In 1963, a program named the Youth Bowling Council was organized for young bowlers under the age of 19 as of Dec 31st.

The AIM was to provide an interesting program that would encourage more youngsters to participate in the various games of bowling. A series of tournaments and championships was arranged that would be both interesting and a challenge to all youth bowlers, regardless of their skill levels. This has now evolved into a program that encourages adult bowlers to take a greater interest in youth bowlers.

THE YBC and its programs are administered by the Bowling Proprietor's Association of Canada and, each year, enlists the aid of over 6,000 parents and adults to voluntarily coach, supervise, and instruct young bowlers.

The YBC World of Bowling:

The National Youth Bowling Council hopes to instill a love for bowling in its young members, a love for the sport and a love for a lifetime of social activity. Bowling in a YBC league provides the best opportunity for young Canadians to learn the value of sportsmanship and fair play. It teaches co-ordination and good fellowship and provides members with plenty of friends, fitness, and fun.

It's Fun:

Bowling in a YBC league means fun, fun, and more fun. In addition to bowling every week with your friends, you will also have the opportunity to meet new friends. Parties, tournaments, trips, and special activities all add to the season's fun.

It's Healthy:

Keep fit ... Bowl a bit!

Bowling is a healthy social activity which will keep you fit throughout the year.

It's Instructional:

Bowling is a sport for ALL young Canadians, male and female - not just for the athletically gifted. Trained YBC instructors are available at most bowling centers to help you with your game, whether you are just learning or trying to improve your score.

It's Exciting:

When you join a Youth Bowling Council league, you will bowl each week as a member of a team. In addition, everyone can take part in exciting local events such as ...

The Buddy Tournament,

Doubles Championship,

I Beat My Coach,

Family Twosome,

I Beat My Average,

Combo Tournament,

Bowler of the Month

Bowler of the Year.

It's Rewarding:

Colorful crests, certificates, and even trophies await YBC members. You can win high game and high series emblems, other individual and team awards, plus a variety of tournament crests.

It's For Everyone:

Young Canadians under the age of 19 are all welcome to join a YBC league. When you do, you will bowl with kids in your own age category ... Bantams, Juniors, and Seniors.
