NewsletterHigh School Tournament - April 29th, 2008The 2008 Manitoba Provincial High School Tournament was held on Saturday, April 19th, 2008 @ St. James Lanes.Congratulations to Glenlawn Collegiate who captured 1st place, Carberry Collegiate in 2nd place and Dakota Collegiate in 3rd place. Congratulations also to Tracy Fleishman who finished top amongst the leader board in singles for girls and Mark Grimshaw who won the boys singles side. Both Tracy and Mark have won $500.00 scholarships from the Manitoba Five Pin Bowling Federation to further their education. Download: Glenlawn_Collegiate.JPG LEVEL I TECHNICAL CLINIC - April 15th, 2008The Manitoba Five Pin Bowling Federation will host a Level I Technical Clinic on Saturday, April 19th, 2008. A minimum of 7 people are required to host this clinic. The classroom portion of the clinic will be held at Sport Manitoba, 200 Main Street, 9:00 am, followed by the onlane portion of the clinic at Dakota Lanes later in the afternoon. The tournament will take place @ St. James Lanes, 1805 Portage Avenue, 2:00 pm. For further information, please contact Deanne Zilinsky @ 925-5766.The M5PBA Provincial Open Championships were held from March 20th - 22nd, 2008 @ Park Alleys. Congratulations to the Winnipeg Ladies Team of Karen Armstrong, Sandi Anderson, Chris Monchak, Lorie Chaikowski, Dawna Proulx, Jennifer Hunt & Coach Dan Robson. Congratulations to the Winnipeg Men's Team of Don Carpenter, Glen King, Glen Howarth, Randy Morrissette, Jim Anderson, Tim Hooper & Coach Jack Alblas. Congratulations to the Winnipeg Mixed Team of Matt McKillop, Steve Van Walleghem, Chad Kipling, Brittany Werner, Gina Frick, Char Hurd & Coach Dwight Hurd. Congratulations also goes out to Glen Howarth (Winnipeg) & Tracy Dreger (Central) who will be our singles representatives. Good luck to these teams who will be representing Manitoba at the Canadian Open 5 Pin Championships from May 27th - June 1st, 2008 in Hamilton, Ontario. Download: February/March Newsletter - February 19th, 2008The seniors division of the MBAM held their 3rd tournament on Saturday, February 9th @ Village Entertainment Centre. Congratulations to Gisele Sayer who blew her competition away and ended up +364 pins over her average, with her next closest rival being Jim Llewellyn Sr. with +224, followed by May Goldsworthy with +91. In the teaching division, their 4th tournament of the season was held on Sunday, February 10th @ Rossmere Lanes. The ladies side saw Eleanore Demke throw a huge +414 pins over her average, with Anne Wisniewski also throwing big with +317 and Christine McBride with +233. We also want to provide current and upcoming information for everyone to keep you up to date. Our first Level I Technical clinic of the season is upcoming on Sunday, October 21/07. The 1st Masters tournament was held on Saturday, September 29th for the Tournament Division and congratulations to Holly Chaikowski who won the ladies side and Geoff Born who won the men's side. Just a reminder that the MBA Senior's Division will be having their 1st tournament on Saturday, October 13th @ Southport Bowl and the MBA Teaching Division will be holding their 1st tournament on Sunday, October 14th @ Billy Mosienko Lanes. Another date that is fast approaching is the Master/Senior Doubles Shootout that is being held on Sunday, October 21/07, St. Vital Bowl @ 4:00 pm.
