Bart Boon Scholarship

The 5-pin bowling community lost one of the truly great gentlemen of the sport when Bart Boon passed away in 1994.

To perpetuate Bart’s spirit, the members of the Unicity Men’s Traveling League have established the “Bart Boon Memorial Scholarship.” Our league will award this scholarship on an annual basis to a Senior YBC bowler, subject to the following guidelines.

  1. The scholarship is available to YBC bowlers registered in the city of Winnipeg who have fulfilled all of their obligations as a member of the YBC.
  2. The scholarship will be awarded to the bowler who is deemed to best exhibit the following qualities.
    1. Sportsmanship
    2. Dedication to the sport of 5 pin bowling
    3. Average or above average ability in the sport

The deadline for the submission of applications is April 30th of each year.

The winner will be awarded registration into the Manitoba Youth Bowling School in August prior to the commencement of the season.
